New Feature: Tracking Offline Attribution

One of the biggest challenges in advertising is attribution.  Where do my customers come from?  How much do they cost?  And then the best follow up: is there a better and less expensive way to acquire them?  At Privy, we're happy to announce that we can answer all three of those questions for our local businesses. Privy currently focuses on tracking attribution between 4 platforms:

  • Website - our widget displays your promotion to consumers who visit your website.  We track how many of your website visitors click on the promotion, purchase the promotion and redeem the promotion.
  • Facebook - Privy autoposts your promotion to your Facebook fans at the right frequency so the most number of your audience sees the promotion.  We track how many customers came from each post, who they are, their contact information, when they purchased the promotion and when they came to your store to redeem it.
  • Twitter - our autotweeting technology works just like Facebook...you tell us the promotion and we make sure people see it, buy it and redeem it.
  • Ad Campaign - executing successful online advertising campaigns and understanding their success has never been easier.  Privy leverages industry expertise and collective experience to buy your online ads with the same precision that a multi-billion dollar corporation enjoys AND can tell you exactly how many customers came into your store as a result.  The key?  When you create a promotion with Privy, it becomes the ad of your campaign.  We drive consumers to a specially created landing page for your promotion where we can track their activity.  Once they claim the promotion, we track when they redeem so we can tell you their name, contact info and exact time of purchase/redemption.

Here's an example of how it works - one of our highly touted customers, Stone Hearth Pizza, experienced this exact phenomenon specifically with their online ad spend.  First, they set a $75 budget and a promotion that offered a Free Flatbread with Purchase of a Large Pizza.  Next, Privy turned that into an ad and bought online placements on their behalf.

When consumers clicked on the ad, they were taken to a specially generated landing page that Privy creates for each specific promotion.

Once consumers purchase the promotion, we can track where they came from, when they purchased and when they redeemed with their phone.  Businesses get it in a nice, exportable list of customers and email addresses like this:
