Facebook Hashtags - A Cause for Privacy Concerns?

A while back, we wrote a series of posts on what you need to know about hashtags on facebook.  Well, now that Facebook users are beginning to use hashtags, it's only a matter of time before marketers can target advertising and promote posts based off these hashtags. According to the Mashable article, this is already causing concerns around the privacy of posts on facebook. This is certainly not the first time we've heard concern around making your social networking activity public information.

Social Media ROI - Do You Care?

For years now, there have been discussions around what the true ROI is from social media. Depending on what kind of business you are, the ROI of social media can be easy to calculate, or damn near impossible. This article on DigiDay includes several opinions that state it's not necessarily that brands care about the ROI social media drives, but more on the cost of what would happen if they were NOT present on social channels.  We spend a lot of time on understanding ROI for our clients, and we feel strongly that you can derive a positive ROI from social media.
